Unbeatable Pizza Dough
Updated: Apr 27
Let's add creating the perfect pizza to our list of things to do during quarantine. Let's pile on healthy ingredients and actually know whats going into our dough for less than $2, rather than take advantage of Domino's 50% off and free delivery deal and spend way more. Explore your creativity during this time. Below is my recipe for the perfect pizza dough followed by my personal suggested toppings. Feel free to cut this recipe in half as the serving size is for two medium sized pizzas.
5 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon Yeast
4 tablespoons Olive oil
2 cups water
In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients flour, salt, and yeast.
In a smaller bowl, mix wet ingredients water and olive oil.
Fold wet ingredients into the the large dry bowl and mix until the dough becomes a ball and does not stick to the edges of the bowl. This is where I like to throw in my hands as the batter can become very thick, very quickly.
Break the dough in two and roll edges out into a circle, add your tomato base and toppings.
Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees
This is usually where I say cool and enjoy but my husband never waits for food to cool so who am I kidding?
My Topping Routine:
Melted butter and pesto base
