A Cornbread Recipe From The Gods
Creating cornbread can be a little difficult task with cornmeal being an ingredient that can easily clump together. If you are from Caribbean descent, then you know exactly what I mean from when you make your own corn meal porridge at home. This recipe is phenomenal and the flaky but moist texture is to die for. You guys already know from my previous posts, I am a huge advocate for making things myself being in control of what ingredients and chemicals go into my body. Without anymore chatting, here is my recipe!
1 cup all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
2 tbs cold butter
Preheat your oven at 350 degrees
Mix your dry ingredients together first in large bowl; flour, baking powder, cornmeal, salt, and sugar.
Then mix and fold in your oil, water, butter, and egg.
Pour this batter into a 9x9 pan or muffin trays and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes, or until you start to see the edges of your cornbread brown.
Cool for 10-15 min and enjoy!
